I am currently sitting in the Celie Pedescleaux presentation about the African American quilting tradition. As she entered the door with her quilted jacket and tiny bubbly figure, we knew it was going to be good. What a beautiful assortment of colors but the much deeper meaning lies in the threads and the hands that create it. There is currently an exhibit of her quilts at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Foundation at 1205 N Rampart.
