Dr. Rxxx Exxx has been Director of CAAAS since 2001. A native of Nigeria, he receieved his Ph.D. from Stockholm University.

Curator/Archivist - Lxxx Hxxx
As the Curator of the CAAAS, Ms. Hxxx is charged with the care and preservation of the African Art collection which is the largest in the state of Louisiana. Although the African Artifact collection was severely compromised by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, it maintains the status as the finest and largest collection held by any university in this region.
Program Coordinator - Melonee Griggs
As the Program Coordinator, Mrs. Griggs has the challenge of providing programming/events and outreach opportunities that align with the Center's goals of enhancing student learning, advancing knowledge, and providing service projects, and disseminating information that is relevant to to the people of African heritage and the Diaspora.
She received her bachelor's in English from the University of Southern Mississippi and her master's from University of Memphis in English literature. Her research interests include literary theory, African American literature and rhetoric from the antebellum to Post-Reconstruction era, and the writings of Paul Laurence Dunbar, Wallace Thurman, & Toni Morrison.
